Those who have made a difference in the lives of children and families are to be recognised by the Barnardo's Marsh Award for Outstanding Achievement in Work with Children and Families.

It is funded by, and offered in partnership with, the Marsh Christian Trust, and is only open to non-Barnardo's nominees – a first for the charity.

The winner will be awarded with £1000 and a plaque to commemorate their achievement, presented to them at Barnardo's Annual General Meeting on 12th October.

Any group or individual can be nominated for the award as long as they don't work for Barnardo's.

Any nominees must have worked with children or families within the past year, but other than that there are no restrictions on who can apply. A project or organisations can nominate a volunteer or paid member of staff or vice versa, a person may wish to nominate a particular project. You can even nominate yourself should you so wish!

Nominations are open now and will close on the 31st July before the awards ceremony in October.

The forms will be examined by a judging panel made up of Barnardo's and representatives from the March Christian Trust, who will decide who has made the most outstanding achievement in their work with children and families.

For more information, visit the Barnardo's website, here.
