Big Way Of Life

The Way of Life programme is one of two programmes under the Healthy Families initiative in Wales. The other programme is called Child's Play.

The Child's Play programme is aimed at children up to 12 years old living in Wales, and in particular children aged 8-12. It is a strategic programme that aims to make a big impact on children's play in Wales by supporting the development of the infrastructure needed to deliver play as well as giving grants to projects that offer opportunities for play. The Big Lottery Fund has awarded 20 grants worth more than £13 million in total through this programme.

In line with the aims of the Way of Life programme, the Big Lottery Fund is keen to develop links with children's play and as such is encouraging projects to make contact with other projects funded under the Child's Play programme.

BIG believe that projects across both programmes could benefit from a joined up approach to nutrition, physical activity and play and could also benefit from sharing activities and ideas of how to engage with families and young children.
