The Physical Activity and Nutrition Networks Wales in collaboration with the All Wales Sexual Health Network and the All Wales Mental Health Promotion Network are now accepting submissions for the Public Health Good Practice Scheme.

PHGPSlogoThe Public Health Good Practice Scheme is an approach that supports all practitioners, organisations and sectors involved health promotion, health improvement and community health development initiatives in the fields of nutrition and physical activity, mental health promotion and sexual health.

The scheme consists of a good practice database, quality mark, awards and provision of support. It rewards good practice and will provide a systematic approach to sharing information about initiatives on the scheme in order to prevent duplication, enhance learning and enable decisions about what initiatives to adopt or develop.

There are considerable benefits for Way of Life projects taking part in this scheme including:

  • Reflecting on and learning from practice
  • Gaining feedback from peer review, with signposting on how to further towards good practice
  • Raising the profile of the submitted initiative, the organisation and the sector
  • Using the quality mark and receiving a national award
  • Building relationships with other initiatives
  • Helping to promote evidence based practice and advancing the aspiration of the Networks.
